Monday was a whirlwind of traveling back home, computer hunting and unloading all the Christmas goodies and luggage before face planting into bed. That only means one thing…
Yesterday was chaos. Between piles of laundry
And attempting to revive dead plants
I tried to find things to eat in my empty pantry. Therefore this Clif Bar was breakfast. I snapped a picture in the tree, which should be down by now… but it’s not.
I tried to keep Hailey occupied while I tornadoed through the house trying to get things back in order…
but as luck would have it, she preferred to do this all day instead:
Luckily I had some extra LOVE to power me through.
Pictured in yet another Christmas decoration that needs to be packed away… more Love Grown granola, please!
The rainy morning gave way to a sunny (yet cool and windy) afternoon. However, there was still so much to be done, much to Koda’s dismay.
I stayed busy through the afternoon attempting to organize and pack up our Christmas décor.
And stopped briefly to pull an emergency soup from the pantry. I also microwaved a bag of frozen Asian veggies in a desperate attempt to squeeze in some produce.
By the time dinner rolled around, I was exhausted. So I gave in to this:
Blue mooooooooooooooooooooon, you saw me standing alone….
We should have a permanent booth at Si Senor for how often we go there.
In an attempt to balance out the chips, I ordered a side of lettuce with our fajitas…
Viola! Fajita salad. Healthy, right?
Maybe it’s the plethora of less-healthy food I’ve been eating or the craziness, but I’m really looking forward to getting back to more consistent healthiness and establishing some goals for 2012! More on that later because for now, I need to go REPACK because tomorrow we’ll be on the road again…
In this ‘in-between’ week, are you back on a healthy track?
Or winging it until the new year?

“Chaos between loads of laundry” would be an awesome blog title! =)
Safe travels!

Ugh… I’d be worn-out too. In fact, I am pretty puckered-out as well. My family is still in town. Luckily, my mom is making meatloaf tonight. That helps with my tiredness since I don’t have to come home from work and cook, but it doesn’t help with the healthy eating.

I’m back on track as of yesterday – minus my crumbled cinnamon rolls I keep putting on my oatmeal.

as someone who is SO looking forward to some wine in 2012 (i’m 26 week pregnant) — i have to ask about your strategy! do you pump & dump? or do you feed right before and assume the next feeding will be diluted out enough to be safe?
Brittany says
Congratulations on being over half way to meeting your baby 🙂 And, oh, I know what you mean about looking forward to a glass of wine!
After researching, I’ve learned that alcohol metabolizes out of milk the same way it metabolizes out of the blood stream. So if I have one beer or one glass of wine, I do it right after feeding Hailey, so by the time it is time for her to eat again (3 hours later), I’m 100% fine. If I’m having a few drinks, I’ll use saved breast milk and pump and dump at her regular feeding time as to not mess with my supply and to make sure my boobs don’t get too full and uncomfortable.
I was SO worried about this topic when I was pregnant because I love a glass of wine, so I did lots of reading up on it and feel really comfortable with this method.
Good luck on the rest of your pregnancy and enjoy that first sip of wine afterwards- it’s magical! 🙂

I’m attempting to be healthy this week even if that gets slightly derailed for New Year’s this weekend. The cookies are all gone and all that is left tempting me is a tin of Godiva chocolates from my MIL. I’m trying to limit myself to 1 a day 🙂

I am doing my best to get back on track although the sugar cravings are absolutely insane!! I don’t want to leave this until the new year because not only will I gain a few pounds but I also don’t feel great and that just plain sucks!!

a fajita salad sounds delicious! I love mexican good!

I’m totally winging it until the New Year. I’m currently staying with my mom and I cannot turn down her mac and cheese and sugar cured hams! I might try to balance out the food with some walks around my old neighborhood, which should help feel a little bit better.
Also, it’s perfectly acceptable to have your holiday decor up until New Year’s! At least that’s what I tell myself.

I’m trying to get back on track, but it’s tough!!!!

Your fajita salad looks fantabulous!

I think you are craaaaazy running around for no reason at all. Decorations should stay up till January 1st, it’s still Holiday season!! Sit back and relax : )
Brittany says
I’m glad to hear they should stay up until the new year because mine definitely are… at least my tree- haha 🙂 My friends make fun of me for rushing to take things down, too. Maybe I am a little nutty!
Melissa @ Be Not Simply Good says
I’d have a revolt on my hands if I took down Christmas decorations before New Years!
I’m doing okay as far as food this week. Also sticking to the exercise plan. I baked 12 dozen cookies yesterday and didn’t eat a single one. Tomorrow is the cookie party, though, so that’s when I can test my ability to do all things in moderation. 😉
