I returned home yesterday evening from a wonderful weekend in Atlanta. Not only did Hailey and I get to spend time with Nana and Papa John…
(I wish you could hear the giggle in the above picture!)
but I got to spend a night out with my best girlfriends.
The shower was beautiful and the food was gooooood.
It was a southern spread and I was so impressed on the play on chicken and waffles…
How cute, right?!? Chick-fil-A nuggets and mini waffles. Adorable!
We spent the night catching up, watching Kristin open gifts and participating in a game of flip cup or two before heading out on the town. We hit up Five Paces and The Ivy (for those familiar with the Buckhead scene). And guess who we ended up chatting with around 1:30am at The Ivy?
Yup. Ryan from the Bachelorette. Guess he didn’t get picked. Shocker after saying how he wouldn’t love on Emily anymore if she gained weight. Sorry for the spoiler!
Yesterday I spent 5 hours driving in the rain and traffic, but it was worth it to get back home… until we discovered that our AC died. The proof is in the pudding coconut oil.
I cracked up when I noticed this! Do you think it’s ruined?
I hope you had a great weekend, too!
Gina @ Running to the Kitchen says
I definitely don’t think it’s ruined! It will harden right back up (twss) once the house cools down again. Those chicken + waffles are so darn cute. Wish the shower I was at yesterday had them!
Cat @ Breakfast to Bed says
I think that coconut oil might have gone rancid!!
Lindsay@Fuel My Family says
I couldn’t believe Ryan said that! Even if he meant it, don’t say it! does he not know women at all? Guess that’s why he does t have a wife yet!
Natalie says
Coconut oil’s melting point is 70-something, but it shouldn’t be bad. Stick it in your fridge and it will firm right up!
Michelle says
Coconut oil is a liquid at 76 degrees and higher, solid below that. It’ll be fine. Mine changes all the time since I keep my house at about 76….
Brittany says
Good to know!! I’m just glad it’s still ok to use. Thanks 🙂
Liz says
Wow, was he as big of a jerk as he was portrayed on the show? I realize there’s magic in editing, but some of the things he said…
Brittany says
He was nice enough, but he was hitting on my friends, so go figure. He definitely think he’s pretty hot stuff.
alli says
no, your coconut oil isn’t ruined. i live in phoenix and every summer my oil looks like that…..even with my AC working. it actually makes cooking with it a lot easier 🙂
Carrie says
I get excited when my coconut oil is in liquid form. It’s way easier to add it to baked goods that way because it saves you the step of having to heat it up first.
Meg @ My Chocolate Covered Life says
What did you all chat about with Ryan?! That is too funny!
Brittany says
I didn’t chat with him for too long. I’m not into people who think they are hot stuff!
Lisa says
Your coconut oil is definitely not ruined! That has happened to me before too. You can just put it in the fridge for a bit to harden up! Haha, hilarious you so Ryan, wonder is he is a jerk in real life. I guess at least he was honest about what he wanted in a wife? Sounds like a fun weekend with your girls and visiting the parents!
Maria says
Chick Fila A nuggets on a mini waffle? You are speaking my language.
Jen says
Looks like a fun weekend! SO glad she didn’t pick Ryan. I’m hoping he’s only been on this long b/c the producers wanted him there for drama. Cannot stand him! Was he just as awful and full of himself in person?
Brittany says
He wasn’t awful, but then again, I didn’t hang out with him for long. He certainly thinks he’s pretty special, and it made it worse with girls going up and reinforcing that crazy notion!
Marie says
looks like a fun weekend!! Love your dress + belt – where did you find them? Isn’t it amazing to see grandparents with your daughter? the love is incredible. 🙂
Brittany says
Thanks!! Dress and belt are from Anthropologie (dress was 50% off, which is usually the only way I can get my Anthro-fix!)
Jen says
so happy you were able to spend the weekend with your friends in atlanta! the chicken and waffles are so cute.
Autumn@Good Eats Girl says
Sounds like a fun weekend! The pics of your little one with your parents are precious!
Marie-Sophie says
Since in Germany we don’t have those fancy AC’s that you have in the US 😉 … my coconut oil is always liquid in summer and rock hard in winter! (and a mush in-between) And no, it doesn’t get rancid just from that! It only goes off when it’s too old.
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
That’s so funny that you saw Ryan. I know that the producers do some major editing, so they might be making him look worse than he is, but he’s really coming across as a weirdo!
Jocelyn @ Peace Love Nutrition says
Caught! haha
Lee says
All I know about Five Paces is that it’s near a really nice Whole Foods!
Erin@happierhealthiermorefitme says
LOL! Love the spoiler alert!
A night out with the girls…oh how I miss those! Glad you had a great time, and I love your dress, it’s super cute!

Whose giggle??? Your mom’s or Hailey’s??? Looks like both!!
blackhuff says
I’m glad that you two had such a great time with your parents. Can see how your little one enjoyed the water so much in that pool.
