This weekend started off on the right foot, with pizza and The Bourne Legacy, which I highly recommend. I was skeptical without Matt Damon being in it, but it was a solid flick, reminiscent of the other Bourne movies, though it was a bit dragged out at the end.
Saturday was so much fun. Hailey and David had some daddy-daughter time while helped celebrate the impending arrival of Brittney’s baby girl.
I just love the glow that mom’s to be have, and Brittney was no exception. The lamb-themed brunch shower was beautiful and hosted by Kelly and some of Brittney’s family. I loved the unique details of the donut hole tower, French toast bites and the adorable lamb cupcakes. Marshmallows- brilliant!
The food was fantastic, my favorite dish being the pimento cheese, which I found out was Kelly’s husband, Brad’s, famous recipe. If you need a go-to pimento cheese, this is a good one!
I really enjoyed the shower and wish I got to see all these girls more often. We ohh’d over all the adorable baby clothes and ahh’d over Brittney’s picturesque lamb nursery. I loved catching up with my friends and even snagged a few minutes to pick Jen’s mind about a new workout circuit that is sure to kick my butt. The girl is good.
All in all, a wonderful afternoon.
With the weather being 70 and sunny, we snuck in some family boat time in the afternoon.
Hailey’s life vest suit looks like a clown outfit and I just can’t stop laughing when she waddles around the boat!
We spent Saturday night relaxing because while Hailey is feeling better everyday, David and I are heading in the opposite direction. We figured nachos would help.
You can’t find nachos like these at a restaurant. +1 for eat-in-month.
Sunday consisted of the usual grocery and laundry and a 3.5 mile leisurely walk with David, Koda and Hailey. Hailey in the wagon. She loves the wagon and was not thrilled when she had to get out.
Consider this you PSA to cut your toddler’s fingernails. She didn’t claw me on purpose, but man, it was too close to my eye for comfort.
Back to eat-in-month… on the menu this week:
Monday – Fish Tacos with Homemade Pico
Tuesday – Spaghetti (Squash) & Homemade Meatballs
Wednesday – Crockpot Chicken & Roasted Veggies
Thursday – Chicken Caesar Salads
Friday – Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese
Last night’s dinner was pretty delicious, too. We had Gyro night. Hailey ate hers in pizza form (as seen on instagram), David had his as a gyro burger and mine was a salad.
However you make it, it’s delicious all around.
After being up at 2:00am and 4:00am coughing, I’m not quite feeling fired up for Monday, but I’m going to give it my best!
What’s on your menu this week?
I’m in need of some new ideas!

Sounds like a great weekend! I love Hailey’s little clown outfit. 🙂 Safety first!

Sounds like a fun weekend! So jealous of your nice weather. Hope you start to feel better as well. Have a great week!!

Apparently Vicks on the feet can help grow -ups too with coughs. Did you ever try it on H? Worth a try?
Don’t tell my D about your gyro/lamb adventures – he will be jealous as I never make lamb in any form….just don’t like it.

I just ran across your blog and really love it! I think your idea of doing an “eat-in” month is fantastic. I just might have to try that, myself. Obviously it is treating you well with the looks of those nachos and that gyro salad. Both look delicious! 🙂
Brittany says
Thanks for stopping by, Hannah! Surprisingly eat in month has been easier than expected. Perhaps because I’m looking forward to our free pass night out next weekend for David’s birthday! 🙂
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, & Beers says
What a lovely shower! I like the lambs. 🙂 I have turkey meatloaf muffins and cauliflower crust pizzas on the menu for the week. Yum!
Brittany says
I’m going to be trying cauliflower crust soon! Do you have a favorite recipe?
Kayla @ Lovely Ride says
Wow those nachos look amazing. I always think homemade are better, you can layer the cheese! Those lamb cupcakes are hilarious.
Brittany says
Yes! The secret is to make a thin layer of chips so each one gets so cheesy goodness!
Brittney says
Ha- I’m not sure if it’s a glow or swelling! I look pretty puffy! Oh well, I’m happy and don’t care! I’m so glad you could make it to the shower. You got some great pictures too. I hardly got any, so I may have to snag a few of yours 🙂
Hailey’s suit is hilarious! So cute 🙂

My hubs and I went out for our anniversary dinner this weekend, and he got meat-lovers (heart-attack!) pizza and I got spinach lasagna… and I made the comment, “You know you’ve become a good cook at home when you’re at a restaurant and think ‘I’ve made better (insert food here) at home!'” That’s what I’m thinking about those nachos!!! YUM. Our weekly menu: breakfast wraps (basically an omelet in a tortilla), philly cheesesteaks, burgers, jalepeno chicken popper quesadillas, grilled chicken salad.

Ouch! But yes, one should not forget to cut those little claws of them 🙂 I forget sometimes to cut my older children’s nails – bad mommy.
What a wonderful shower you two attended. And that food looks delicious.
Emily Sutton says
Yay! It was great to see you. The shower food was indeed DELISH. Also, I loved The Bourne Legacy – also very pleasantly surprised.

Can you cut your toddler’s teeth? Because bean is into biting these days 😉
Judy says
This is a little off topic, but what kind of eye makeup or mascara do you wear? When I saw the picture of your eye, all I saw we’re your gorgeous eyelashes!
Brittany says
Oh they’re natural… I WISH 😉 Thank you! Lately I’ve loved Voluminous Million Lashes in the gold tube – http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/itemid=134046

Nachos are my weakness and those look amazing! I’m making a big batch of chili tonight because the weather here has been anything but 70’s…which should be expected in January, just not in California!
Jen@HealthyFoodandFamily says
Oh, those nachos…YUMMM!
Love the idea of the lamb baby shower, how cute!!!!

so very jealous of your boat ride. sounds like a wonderful end to such a beautiful day. loved hanging out with you at the shower. e-mail me if you have workout questions or want suggestions to switch it up.
Parita @ myinnershakti says
NOTHING beats homemade nachos! My favorite little substitute is baked sweet potato rounds for torilla chips. Amazing!
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
Haha I actually fell asleep during the Bourne Legacy. It’s just not the same without Matt Damon!
Angela says
I feel like I’m in a dinner rut lately so I can’t wait to read your ideas. Those nachos look delicious!!
Jessie says
Joshua & I actually went to watch Bourne last night, but decided against it in the end because I had way to much on my mind & just didn’t’ see myself being able to focus properly. Maybe we’ll try it again tonight.
Those nachos look delicious!!!
Andie says
I would love to know what you put in your nachos! 🙂
and for dinner this week:
bow tie fiesta (not super clean but tasty!)
Pork Fried “rice” (but with quinoa, bok choy, peas, etc)
Chicken Parm, whole wheat pasta with marinara, salad
White Chicken Spinach Pizza
and Fish Fry on Friday! (getting ready for Lent and trying to use up some of the fish the husband has caught in the freezer!)
