Hailey has been an eating champ lately. Maybe it’s another growth spurt, but she’s been downing some food. Check it out-
Mornings still begin with bananas. She eats a whole banana, but I only give her half at a time because she usually shoves the whole thing in her mouth. This distracts her for long enough for me to make breakfast.
She alternates eggs or oatmeal. This day was 2 eggs, scrambled with Jacks’s fresh salsa and 1/3 of a grapefruit cut up on the side around 8:15am.
This holds her until lunch around 11:20am.
Lunch was a barley, lentil and roasted carrot bowl, warmed up and drizzled with balsamic dressing.
Then she moved onto yogurt.
And once she finished that and still wanted more, I defaulted to frozen peas.
After nap, we usually have something fun to do so snack is on-the-go around 2:30pm. We are still a fan of pouches. They’re just so easy.
We’re also on a graham cracker kick, though it takes me some time to find some without hydrogenated oils (FYI- Honey Maid does have partially hydrogenated oils) on the ingredient list. The ones pictured above are Harris Teeter brand, which do not have partially hydrogenated oils, but do have HFCS. Next time I plan on trying to find Annie’s organic graham crackers which have a much better list of ingredients.
Whew, sorry for the tangent!
Moving on to dinner-
For the most part, Hailey still eats what we eat for dinner, which is so nice. This night she ate a homemade black bean burger with avocado and organic ketchup around 6:00pm. The girl loves to dip.
I should also add she drinks about 14 ounces of whole milk a day and as much water as she wants.
What are your kiddos eating? Link up and share!

Wow, very interesting. She eats more than I realized was typical for a kiddo her age … but obviously I’m clueless in this area, as I don’t have a chld yet! And I’m amazed at how healthy she eats!! So cool!
Katie says
My little one loves lentils, too! But she has been on an eating hiatus for almost a month. Seriously, like 10 bites of food a day….but she’s growing like a weed! Those toddlers are funny little things.
(and I love Hailey’s black and white bow!)
Brittany says
H went through that, too, and just a couple weeks ago started downing it again! I’m sure it will ebb and flow like that from now on 🙂
Sarah says
Yes, she is eating a LOT! My son alternates between eating like a bird and devouring everything on his plate and half of mine.
Brittany says
Hailey does that, too! Recently she’s been in the eat everything phase, so I’m loving it 🙂
Laura @ Mommy Run Fast says
I love those phases where they gobble everything up! We’re going through a pickier phase… she would LOVE a pb and banana sandwich every day for lunch, but I do get to mix it up on the days I pack her food for school since she can’t throw a fit there… or could, but chooses not to and eats without complaint. Love that pic with yogurt all over her mouth!!
Casey @ thislittlechickpea says
I can’t get over her yogurt face! I literally have gone back to look at it 15 times and giggle every.time! She looks like she got caught doing something naughty! Thanks for sharing and hosting as always! Love to see what other little ones are munching on!

Thank you for sharing the meals. As per usual, they are great ideas for me and my family too 🙂
Yes, she’s maybe going through a growth spurt for eating so much food 🙂
Angela @ Happy Fit Mama says
The “eat everything in sight” phase is great – you could put a piece of cardboard in front of them and they’d still eat it. My daughter would be happy with a nut butter sandwich for every meal. My son surprises me every so often. Yesterday I was chopping onions for dinner and he pushed a chair up and started eating raw onions. Needless to say he had some serious dragon breath after that!
Brittany says
Raw onions?! My kind of kid 😉 Yes, I’m loving this eat everything phase. I hope it lasts for a little while longer!
Chantal says
She eats well! This reminds me that I have a grapefruit to cut up, I should share it with Penny 🙂
Madeline @ Food Fitness and Family says
I am loving this stage! Hailey’s eats look like so much fun 🙂
Lee says
Do you have Trader Joe’s there? They have graham crackers that don’t have any of the funky stuff (though they are a bit larger and you’d probably have to break them up.)
Brittany says
I don’t have one nearby, but maybe next time I’m in Charlotte! Thanks 🙂
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
I LOVE how healthy of foods your daughter eats, and that she gets in such a wide variety. She will really appreciate that you fed her such wonderful food once she is older.
Giselle@myhealthyhappyhome says
Gotta love those growth spurts! I feel like my son is a bottomless pit when we hit one of those! She’s so cute Brittany! Getting so big too! Isn’t it horrible trying to dissect labels to find a cracker (or anything) that doesn’t contain something bad? So frustrating! I have a graham cracker recipe on my blog that is fairly simple and my son loves them! http://myhealthyhappyhome.com/2012/11/30/its-beginning-to-look-a-lot-like-christmas/
Brittany says
CLicking over to your recipe now! Thanks so much for sharing!
Sarah says
Just discovered this series through Kristen’s blog and even though I’m due with my first child in May and it will be a while before we’re at this point, I’m so excited for all the ideas! I think introducing my son to healthy foods is going to be one of the more fun stages for me 🙂
Brittany says
Congratulations! Such an exciting time 🙂 And yes, introducing foods was one of my favorite parts of being a mom!
Lauren says
Hailey gives me hope that this semi picky eater phase that Leo’s in won’t last too long. I’m impressed by all she eats! Thanks again for hosting 🙂

Some other good graham cracker options:
Mi-del
Back to Nature
Milton’s
She sure is a great eater!
Brittany says
Oh, awesome! Thank you!
Laura @ Close Families says
We LOVE Annie’s bunnies! So yummy!
Kelly @ Runmarun says
Every time I see a new post from you, H looks so much more grown up! Amazing!
She is such a good eater and you make the most awesome meals for her- I love doing like you do- feeding her what we are eating. I couldn’t imagine making separate meals every day for L.
Also impressive? The fact that H can eat with her sleeves down and not make a mess! 🙂
Kristen@Change of Pace says
What a great little eater. I love to see what other people’s kids eat! 🙂
Maria says
Oh my gosh, her little bow. Adorable! Her hair is growing so fast, too!
I must admit that Annie’s Bunny Grahams are one of my favorite snacks ever. And the Cheddar Bunnies. And the fruit snacks.
char eats greens says
Can I sub in for Hailey sometime and you can feed me?! I love seeing the versatility in munchkin meals. The only real person I had to go off of meals before was my sis-in-law and these are definitely not the things I see her feeding her kids. I love how varied Hailey eats!!!
Laury says
She is SO edible!!!!!
I think ALL kids love to dip!
Can you believe how much our little girls are growing up! I can’t believe she’s 18 months already..and E will be TWO!
Brittany says
E is almost two?! Say it ain’t so… SO big, SO fast…
Marci says
When did she learn the spoon? Logan loves to hold a spoon but doesn’t get how to dip it in and put it in his mouth. Yogurt is the only thing we use a spoon for right now. Graham crackers are magic! They cure any meltdown and are a lifesaver in the stroller or car when it’s the end of the day or he won’t calm down. I haven’t looked at the ingredient list, and I might just look the other way on that one.
Brittany says
She started with a spoon maybe a month or two ago? She is a careful girl and focuses really hard and is surprisingly really good with it! It’s so much fun to watch her use a spoon herself! You should try one just for fun with Logan 🙂
sara says
how much food is wasted? I still handfeed her the important meals so i’m sure she’s eating enough. I also handfeed her because I don’t want her snacking meals throughout the day. this way she is well fed, and only requires small snack between meals. Of course she eats finfer food on her own. I know it’s not the best practice, but slowly but surely she will start eating on her own.
Brittany Dixon says
At this age (19 months), I’d say Kaitlyn eats anywhere from 40% to 100% off her meal, usually averaging around 70%. The rest Hailey will eat or it gets tossed.
lindsay @ fuelmyfamily says
I am shocked at how much my girls will eat at times. I struggle as to if I should cut them off at any point or let them eat and eat and eat since its all healthy foods! Cassidy wanted 2 bananas tonight AFTER a huge dinner! I don’t know where it goes in her tiny body!
lindsay @ fuelmyfamily says
oh and we make our own graham crackers, the recipe is on my blog. My kids love them and they are all whole food ingredients!
Elizabeth says
Seriously what mom’s dreams are made of…. you are so lucky she is an amazing eater. I’m definitely doing blw next time around!
Jess T. says
Thanks for hosting this awesome link-up! I’ve been a reader for a little while and Hailey’s eats are one of my favorite parts of your blog! Keep up the great work!
Sarah@Kids Heart Real Food says
The frozen peas are always a good default. Tyson loves them so much! Although I always end up finding old hard peas in the most random of places.
Neil Butterfield says
She does appear to have a healthy appetite. It’s lovely to see kids eating well.
Cait F. says
I realize this is super old but I’ve been trying to come up with more ideas to feed my 18m old and came across this post. It literally could have been written about my daughter, just starting off with everyday begins with an entire banana and we switch between scrambled eggs and oatmeal. Even lunch and dinner is so spot on for her favorites too. Thank you for sharing!

I’m so glad it was helpful! Thanks for your comment!
