…sometimes I even put it in the food. 😉
Last night I needed wine. But before I poured myself a big ‘ol glass of red, I made my body earn it.
After seeing that it was this cold out:
I decided it was time to rejoin here:
before I spent the entire winter curled up in the fetal position underneath a mountain of blankets. But on second thought… that sounds like a nice way to spend the winter!
Fortunately, I have an incredible YMCA near my house and it’s about time I take advantage of it. So I warmed up with a quick jog on the dreadmill treadmill. After 10 minutes I headed off to pilates class. It felt great to work on my mid section, but the class moved kind of slow, and I almost fell asleep… twice.
By the time last night rolled around, it had been quite a day. I was feeling stressed… and overwhelmed. And needed wine. In a happy glass.
Hubbs had a loooooong day yesterday, so it was dinner for one, and pizza sounded fantastic.
Sound good to you? Here’s how to make a quick dough:
- 1/2 c wheat flour
- 3/4 c all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet of Fleischmann’s Pizza Dough Yeast (it’s quick!)
- 1 c very warm water
- one sleepy puppy
- Mix 1/2 c of each kind of flour together with salt, sugar and yeast. Add oil and water, mix well.
- Then slowly stir in the rest of the flour until the mixture turns into a ball of dough.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees while you get to work kneading the dough. (which can be very therapeutic).
Roll out the dough to your desired pizza size and stick in the oven to bake for 5 minutes.
Screw up trying to pull it back out and drop half the pizza into the bottom of the oven where it can make the house smell like it’s on fire.
Oops.
Oh well.
Nothing wine can’t fix.
Top your pizza (with sauce, spinach, tomato, onions and fresh mozz) and bake for about 10 minutes.
For full effect, pair with a side of Gossip Girl.
bad picture… but it fits with the kind of evening I had 😛
How to you relax after a stressful day?
John J. says
Pizza and red wine (with all that good resveratrol in it!). Bring it on!

I love that wine glass! 🙂
Pizza looks delicious, fresh mozz is one of my favorite ingredients.

Mmm pizza will always be one of my favorite foods. I usually relax at the end of the day by cooking, baking, doing yoga, or just laying on the couch! Depends on my mood 😉
Melissa @ Be Not Simply Good says
At the end of a long day, I like to spend a little time reading to relax. 🙂

Love the humor throughout the post; and I don’t drink much, but if I did fun wine glasses are necessary. Hot tea, a blanket, the couch, and tv relax me. On second thought, maybe I should just drink. 😉
