O. M. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I don’t know if I can even convey the pain I feel/felt in my legs. Since yesterday morning they have been burning, and even the most simple tasks (using the ladies room…ahem…) has been brutal. Am I a masochist if I am somewhat enjoying the pain, though? It’s just been so long since I’ve felt the burn!
That being said, I am taking you all up on your advice (THANK YOU!) and not doing the lunges everyday. Actually, I don’t think I could even do them today if I wanted to, so I might take Toni’s advice and do every 3 days, and add in upper body today.
What is a similar challenge to the lunges I can do with my upper body? Similar to lunges, I get bored if I don’t have a specific goal to do… so upper body experts, let’s here it!
I did, however, get my nice, brisk walk in yesterday. Although cooler out, the sunset was gorgeous!
And the sunshine must be getting to me, because I’m beginning to feel like my old self again. I must admit, lately I’ve been in a bit of a cereal slump. Multigrain Cheerios to be exact. But this morning, I was back to my old self!
That, my friends, is a 2 egg white scramble with spinach, red pepper and a 1/2 Tbsp of goat cheese, 1/2 a whole wheat sandwich thin and strawberries and blueberries on the side.
Topped off with a little salsa and washed down with a few swigs of 1% organic milk… straight from the carton because that’s how I roll 😉
It was delicious and I welcomed normal Brittany back to my life.
In other news…
I missed my blogiversary!
February 8th marked the 1 year anniversary of A Healthy Slice of Life. WoW- one year already! It’s been through a lot of changes, from information/article based- like this – to a daily diary of my eats – like this – to now a mix of everything!
Thank you so much to all my wonderful readers! You make it so much fun to get up and write every morning!! Happy Wednesday all 🙂

I also like to have some type of challenge. I decided to do 300 pushups this month, which is a good amount for me. Challenging, but possible. I think I will try for 400 next month and try to build over time. I am also thinking of adding dips in March. This month I have been doing sit-ups and push-ups. Maybe something like that, with your lunges some days and an upper body challenge on some days?

P.S. That is a gorgeous photo! Do you live on the water? Just beautiful.

Happy Blogiversary!
I think that pushups and tricep dips are great for the upper body.
Maybe challenge yourself to doing 20 pushups and 40 tricpey dips every otehr day?
Maria @ Oh Healthy Day says
Congrats on your anniversary!
For upper body, I’m in a contest right now with my coworkers to see who can do the most pushups in one minute. It’s easy: everyday, I simply do as many pushups that I can in one minute. Since I know you love the C25K plan, you could also try the 100 Pushups Plan, which has an Iphone app and is only 3 days a week.
Hope your legs feel better!

Happy Belated Blogiversary! The colors of the sun and the food look like just the thing to put a smile on my face. I was going to recommend the 100 pushup challenge, but someone beat me to it. Here is the link:

i like pushups (or if you like yoga – chaturangas). actually, the best thing i’ve done for my arms (and yes, i’ve tried weights…i’m a p90x grad…) is yoga. chaturangas, upward dog and down dog all require arm strength.
also tricep dips are fabulous. sit on the edge of a step or chair and lower your butt towards the floor and then use your arm strength to pick you back up : )
i just did a post about yoga today actually. http://cailenascher.blogspot.com/2011/02/just-breathe.html

Nice job with the lunges!! Being sore is a great feeling (I think) 🙂
I’m definitely not an “upper body expert” but I think pushups are the the easiest way to get toned arms!

I was going to say pushups, too! Happy blogiversary:)

Happy Blogiversary! [Although I like the term “blogday” ;)]
And I prefer to think of it as being a serial cereal eater, rather than considering it a slump of any kind. 🙂
