Don’t ask me how, but I forgot to share some incredible news with yall…
I’ve returned to WOGGING!!!
Woooo-hooo! I even got up early to fit a nice wog in before I had to get the day going.
Yes, it’s a scary picture. But it was scary for me to exercise at 7:30am, too.
How did I decide to return? A few reasons…
-
My lower back hadn’t bothered me in a couple weeks. For a little while, my lower back (really, it was so low it should be called my upper butt) was really bothering me… to the point I had trouble walking after sitting for an hour or so. It was scary. But I’m convinced now that it wasn’t a broken spine (phew!), just a badly pulled muscle and that I should focus more on proper stretching.
-
My thighs kept expanding. I’m scared for what will happen if I can never wog again… it’s the only thing that seems to keep my thighs in check. Yes, it’s superficial. But there, I said it.

I missed the challenge. Wogging (and running) challenges me in a way I find incredibly frustrating and unbelievably rewarding. It’s hard for me, which makes it all that much more worth it.
So 2 weeks ago I dusted off the old Couch to 5K app and hit GO on day 1. It felt tough. I was frustrated that it felt tough after I had conquered it only a few months back. And I was elated that I was out there again! So was my wogging buddy… She had been complaining about feeling tubby, too 😉
So now I’ve done 6 wogs, all just over 2 miles and taking about 30 minutes. I walk to warm up and walk to cool down, plus I spend a bit more time stretching.
I’ll be keeping up and keeping once a week yoga in my life, too. I wish I could yoga more than 1x each week, but it’s all life allows for at the present.
It feels so good to be back!
Have you revisited an exercise and realized how much you missed it?
Have a great weekend!! I have an amazing recipe to share next week- Eee! 🙂

Good luck with the wogging! 🙂 Koda seems like a great wog partner (Salvie is not). Happy Friday!

I have yet to try yoga! I’ve been doing the same exercise (with mild variation) for so long, I don’t think I’ve had a chance to miss it. 🙂

Good luck with wogging!! It sure is tough but if you push yourself you can do anything!!
I am taking a break this week from weights and I miss it!!

Great job getting back on track! I wonder if the thighs expanding was due to the lunge challenge if you’re still doing that!?!

I have low-back/upper-butt problems from running to and my favorite stretch, the one that keeps me able to run, is… Well I’m not sure what it’s called but I’ll try to describe it and maybe another reader can name it? This is the standing up way…
Bend your left leg and place the ankle just above your right knee. Now bend at the knees (or well, I guess it’s just your right knee at this point) and feel the stretch through your butt/low-back.
There’s a pretzel way of doing this laying down but it’s too complicated for me to explain in the comments 🙂
