It’s Friday of a pretty crazy week and the next two weeks get even busier, so my mind is operating in survival mode. This means it is lacking the ability to create full, developed ideas and instead is sputtering out thought fragments. I’ve decided to just go with it.
- My garden thus far has been manifesting a fabulous array of fresh produce for all the local critters. They’re hogging all of it. I have high hopes that I’ll actually get to enjoy this guy, though.
- I finally decided Hailey needed to try peanut butter.
Nope, we didn’t end up here, thank goodness; we started here. Hailey tried her first bites of Justin’s peanut butter in the parking lot of the hospital yesterday. You know, just in case.
Yup, I’m that crazy mom, but no reactions!
- I spent nap time yesterday baking for a neighbor who had surgery.
The banana nut bread I made had zero redeeming health benefits. It was DELICIOUS. I made a loaf to give and a loaf to keep. Our loaf is already half gone and I can’t blame it on Koda.
- I shared a belief I’ve held for sometime on twitter this morning and got quite an uproar in agreement. I’ve always thought that happily married couples tend to resemble each other.
What do you think?
Do you and your lov-ah look alike?
Happy Friday the 13th!
Erica says
Lol – I actually think trying out foods that are popular allergens in the parking lot of the ER is one of the *best* idea’s I’ve ever heard!
Erica says
Oh, and as a psych professor I lecture on married couples starting to look more like each other as the years progress. What happens is that you unconsciously mimic each others facial expressions as a sign of report and, after years of mirroring, the lines and muscles on the face start to look the same!

John and I get told we look like brother and sister all the time. kind of creepy sometimes. be careful the second time you give her PB. the first time the body is just exposed/sensitized to it the second encounter is usually when the allergy shows.
Jessie @ Graze With Me says
I was just going to say that! Watch our for the 2nd exposure.
Alison says
Yup, this is definitely true. An allergy can really develop at any time, even if the allergen has been eaten multiple times before. My 9.5 month old developed a severe wheat allergy after happily eating wheat products for over a month with no problems.
Brittany says
Thanks for the heads up, ladies!! I will definitely keep this in mind next time I offer her pb!
Jen says
That peanut butter idea is genius. It’s exactly what we’ll do too 🙂
Kaci says
LOL! When Jon and I were dating, very early on, we got called bro/sis all the time. =)
Hailey is just too cute.
Katie @ Legally Fit says
My husband and I look more alike than my brother and I do- it’s kind of funny.
Good call on the peanut butter!
Susan @ Real Life Travels says
Your brave girl! Peanut butter at 9 months, I was thinking about giving CK peanut butter soon but still have yet to do it. I’m not sure why I’ve waited this long?? He may be getting a special treat when we get back home! 🙂
Adria @ A Spoonful of Healthy says
I can’t wait to plant my garden next year!! And I am very happy to hear that Hailey did well with peanut butter. That is NOT an allergy I wish on anyone. Nuts are in practically everything!
Jen says
People say my husband and I look alike!
I’ve heard that when a person has a peanut allergy, it often doesn’t manifest until the second exposure…you may want to make one more trip to that parking lot, just in case!
Liz @ IHeartVegetables says
Phew, I’m glad she’s not allergic to peanut butter!!! And I think Justin’s is the best, so that’s a good place to start 😉 haha
Lisa says
You are awesome. Haha I love that you were in the hospital parking lot just in case. That’s probably a smart idea though:)
Oh man that banana bread looks awesome! I think I should make some traditional banana bread this weekend, I haven’t had that stuff in at least 8 years…that’s crazy to me since I used to live off of it.
I do agree that most couples look alike!!! I have one friend who is dating this guy who looks identical to her and they have the exact same birthday, year and everything. It is bizarre to me haha
Kelli H (Made in Sonoma) says
That’s a hilarious statement. David & I don’t look alike at all. I’ve heard dogs look like their owners…
Brittany says
I hope that’s true because Koda is fit, tan and adorable. I wouldn’t mind taking after her 😉
Chloe (In Fine Feather) says
Well since I’m white and my boyfriend is Indian…..no 😉
Laury@TheFitnessDish says
I seriously considered doing the PB in the hospital lot too! I didn’t though…just my gut instinct that she would be okay. I’m glad it was for both of our purposes!
That last photo of you is adorable. No, my husband and I look nothing alike…but…I have SO many friends who look like their spouses. And I notice my parent have the same mannerisms now, and it makes them look alike (when they never did)
Danica @ It's Progression says
I don’t think my husband and I look a thing alike but we act more and more alike the longer we’re together : )
Lee says
That’s a good idea to try it in the parking lot!
My husband and I have the same light brown, almost greenish eyes, but we don’t really look alike. A lot of people think he’s half-Asian because of his eye shape. He’s not, but he gets it all the time!
chelsey @ clean eating chelsey says
Okay I love that you sat in the hospital parking lot. You are the best ever.I love you. And the stinking critters around here are also eatingall of my produce. I’m getting really annoyed.
jessie says
Even though I think its’ a brillant idea of sitting outside, and it kinda cracked me up… you totally scared me with the hospital picture until I kept reading… sneaky!
Have a wonderful weekend with your little munchkin & hubs <3
Lauren K says
Someone at the gym asked if Jeff and I were brother and sister the other day (neither of us were wearing rings)! I don’t think we look alike at all (except for blue eyes and dark hair) but I thought it was pretty funny!
Maria says
Not sure about looking alike, but I catch myself saying things the way he does and using his phrases all the time. I can’t stop myself.
But I have to agree and that you and your husband do look a lot alike. It’s cute 🙂
Eisha says
You look so beautiful with your husband! Even though your hair and dress are wonderful, your smile is what makes the picture amazing! And I would do the same with the peanut butter – it’s peanut butter! 🙂

I’m glad you could come to a decision regarding the peanut butter. I’m glad that your little one did not get any reaction from it. Me and my partner do not resemble each other – we did when we both were obese but now that I have lost the weight, we don’t anymore.
Heather says
I hate that I am so far behind, but now that I’m trying to catch up, i think it is funny that you gave Hailey peanut butter in the parking lot of the hospital. Also, people tell my husband and I that we look alike, I can totally see it with us too.
