First and foremost, thank you SO much for all your well wishes yesterday. I’m happy to report we are doing well. Hailey checked out a-ok at the doc (Britax, I love you). I have some mild whiplash, soreness and bruising. Like I said, it could have been so much worse.
Now let’s move on to the good stuff- food! As a little twist on what I ate Wednesday, I’d love to share 5 foods that are totally worth trying if you haven’t yet. Starting with this breakfast.
It’s getting old to see every week, huh? I can’t help it. It’s my new favorite. 1 fried egg and avocado on sourdough, drizzled with sriracha. Creamy, spicy, savory, satiating… what’s not to love? Oh, and a banana to balance things out.
Next up would be these burritos.
I don’t eat a lot of premade meals, but I love having them on hand for David. Unfortunately good ones are hard to find, as most are filled with chemicals and unrecognizable ingredients. When Red’s All Natural Burritos reached out to me and offered to send me some coupons for free burritos, I accepted… after I checked out their ingredient list.
Have you seen most frozen foods’ ingredient list? This one is highly impressive with its list of REAL food. Plus, these suckers are huge. I recommend them for those with hearty appetites. I do not recommend trying to cut them in half.
Not pretty, but tasty. And filling. Very filling. Especially when paired with a side salad with garden fresh salsa (recipe to come soon!) and pepper jack cheese.
Cabot cheese is hands-down my favorite store bought cheddar cheese, so I was super excited when they sent me a pack of cheesy goodness. The pepper jack packed some serious flavor into my lackluster, iceberg side salad.
That little wire cheese cuter up front might be my new favorite kitchen utensil. I guess we eat a lot of cheese.
Lunch kept me full all afternoon, so not snack was necessary- just a beverage. Perrier sparkling water.
I picked up these new fancy-schmancy slim cans by Perrier at Target and enjoyed the grapefruit flavor. I’m not sure it beats out my favorite, lime La Croix, but it was refreshing during yesterday’s heat.
Finally, one last product I can’t recommend enough is quinoa pasta.
Would someone like to come paint my deck, by the way? Ew.
Last night we tried out the newest edition, a whole wheat and quinoa blend, which was very good, but the original quinoa and corn pasta is really good, too, and gluten free. All the corn flour they use is non-GMO and all their quinoa, corn and wheat are organic.
I absolutely love discovering new foods to try.
Have you found any great new food products lately?
Please share!

Pleased to hear that you are alright. I would love to try quinoa spaghetti. I recently discovered Avocado and banana smoothies and love them. Doubt this is new to anyone esle but me!
Brittany Dixon says
Notpe, I’ve never tried avocados in my smoothies! I’ll remember that for next time I’m on a smoothie kick 🙂
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
I was going to try the Red’s Burritos…except they didn’t have a vegetarian option. 🙁 However, they DO look delicious…love me some Tex-Mex.
My meals have been so random lately because of moving/living in limbo, but I’ve discovered the joy of making salad dressing out of the bottom of the jam jar, the wonders of psyllium husk, and the recipe I accidentally created for vegan ‘goat’ cheese.
Nicole @ FruitnFitness says
So happy to hear that you and Hailey are alright after yesterday, that must have been so scary! I love sparkling water, I think its such a refreshing afternoon beverage.
Christine@ Apple of My Eye says
I’m so glad that the both of you are fine!’
Loving the recommended eats! Especially the chicken burrito. I, like yourself, don’t usually eat too many frozen foods, but those burritos look right up my alley! I’ll be trying your breakfast recommendations as well, minus the sriracha since I’m a COMPLETE wimp when it comes to anything spicy 😉
Mandy @ The Running Herbivore says
That breakfast looks so delicious still. I love avocado at every meal!
I am glad to hear that you both are doing just fine. Car accidents are about the scariest thing to go through, couldn’t imagine the feeling with your child!
I’m trying an Amy’s frozen meal today. The ingredients are awesome. The price is EXPENSIVE though! Haha
Brittany Dixon says
Oh my goodness, yes! All the quality items in the freezer case sure are pricey!
christina says
Never seen those burritos before but they look freaking tasty!! I’m loving the new KIND bars!! Sooooo good.
Erin @ Sugar Magnolia says
I would love to try those quinoa noodles!
Danica @ It's Progression says
I really want to try both quinoa pasta and a one of those perrier drinks – I had no idea they’re just sold at Target!
Brittany Dixon says
Oh yeah, girl! Target has {almost} everything. 😉
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
That breakfast will never ever get old to me. That is seriously the perfect thing to eat in the morning :). I have been wanting to try quinoa pasta, but first I need to use up the other pasta that is sitting in my pantry :/.

We just picked up some of Red’s burritos and quesadillas this week to try out. I think my son will love the quesadillas and my hubby is a huge burrito fan! Most recently I tried one of the cans of Kombucha Wonder Drink that I think I saw you post awhile back. We had the Pear Ginger and it was so good! I liked it so much, I added it to my champagne for a new twist on a mimosa. Ummm… yum!
Brittany Dixon says
Added to champagne?! YOU are brilliant. That sounds awesome! I also want to try the quesadillas. They looked so good, too!

I picked up that quinoa pasta from Whole Foods the other day and cannot wait to try it this weekend with some spaghetti sauce and basil. I like my pasta really simple!
Not food, but my current favorite product are those rubbermaid produce saver food storage containers. I don’t tend to go through produce as quickly as I should and it really adds shelf life to things like berries and spinach!

So glad you and Hailey checked out ok! I have been considering turning Claire’s carseat around since she’ll be two in July, but now I am convinced me to leave her rear facing since she doesn’t seem to mind. It’s amazing how most people that ride with me comment on why she is still facing backwards and ridicule me for that decision!
I am definitely going to try out the burritos as Ben and I are always looking for easy meals for lunch while at work and we have trouble coming up with good options. Thanks for the reco!
Jen says
We love quinoa pasta! It’s actually the only pasta Wyatt will eat. Can’t say I blame him though!
Erin G. @ Treats and Sneaks says
I had never heard of quinoa pasta until I read this and can’t wait to try it! Thanks!!!

I’d love to try that perrier!!! I love the new Larabar ALT’s! Too bad they don’t have them in Canada, so I’m down to my last one 🙁
Brittany Dixon says
I keep hearing about these new ALT bars! What gives them their protein? Powder? Food?

Peas!!
Tiff @ Love, Sweat, and Beers says
New foods are so fun! It’s probably not a good thing to get this excited about new eats, but I do. haha Love Cabot cheese!
Christina says
I recently tried an “Evol” burrito that I grabbed out of the frozen food case at Target, when I was in need of a speedy and cheap lunch. It was pretty good! Another new (to me) find are the Archer Farms pizza crusts from Target – I got the “fire roasted” flavor and it was delicious! I still prefer homemade pizza dough – I use your recipe 🙂 – but this will do in a pinch.
Emily S says
yum! i love cabot cheese! lucky 🙂
Kristen @ notsodomesticated says
I just now read your post about the accident. 🙁 I’m so sorry. But I’m very happy to hear that you and your little one are doing well. What a scary thing. The idea of getting into an accident with Addie in the car makes me sick to my stomach!
Beth Sheridan @sugarcoatedsheridans says
That burrito looks and sounds amazing!! I’ve never seen that good of an ingredient list on anything pre-made/frozen 🙂
Matt @ The Athlete's Plate says
Bummer those have soy in them. I’m allergic 🙁
That breakfast looks fantastic!
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats says
Yum looks like some great new products there! Hoping I can find some of them in Australia.
Sarah says
My new thing is kombucha. I know it’s packed full of probiotics and is really good for digestion, but I also just really like it. It’s kinda tart and vinegary and strange… but good.
